The Art of Food Photography with Donna Crous

September 9, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

£5

Donna is an award winning blogger and food photographer living in Surrey, UK. She has been a finalist in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year competition,  and shortlisted in the Stylist Award category for 2019 and 2020.

Her reputation is built not only on her photography, but also recipe development, cooking and styling, This combination of skills has led to work across a spectrum ranging from health/food magazines, through brand development to recipe books.  A regular photographer for Page Street Publishers based in Boston, MA.

Donna’s own book, “A Healthier Family For Life” (through Little, Brown publishers) is due out in 2021.

Donna is always happy to share what she knows and works closely with Nikon doing talks and workshops, as well as running her own workshops and 1-2-1 mentoring sessions.

For Donna, lighting is crucial, and can be the difference between an appealing, flattering shot and something that looks unnatural and unappetising.  Originally shooting entriely with natural light, the overcast climate in the UK can pose some challenges.  Venturing into the world of continuous lighting using a Rotolight Neo2 for filler light, has lead Donna to become the newest member of the Rotolight Masters of Light team

A South African by origin, Donna is a wife and mother of two daughters.  Her greatest achievement to date is overcoming breast cancer in 2019/2020.

She will be covering all aspects of food photography, so we will start at the beginning so to speak.  I will include BTS and what goes into creating an image.  Hopefully inspiring your members to see a whole new world in their everyday food.  Topics I’ll be covering…
