Glyn will also go through his current 39-45 Portraits Project where he (until lockdown) was touring the UK photographing surviving World War 2 Veterans; an entirely self-funded project that has gained National News Coverage but with the sole intention of providing Veterans and their families with classic\, timeless portraits. Glyn will also go through some Veterans stories and also the photography and lighting he uses to take these Veteran Portraits on location and will finish the presentation with some examples of retouching techniques he regularly turns to. DESCRIPTION:Guy Davies ARPS\, EFIAP\, EPSA and Paula Davies FRPS\, CPAGB\, EFIAP/s\, EPSA.  We are honoured to have two Permajet sponsored speakers in one evening. A husband and wife photography partnership. Paula describes herself as a “butterfly photographer” because she flits from subject to subject taking a photograph of anything that attracts her. She enjoys being out in the landscape pressing the shutter but gets particular satisfaction from seeking out abstract images in man-made and natural objects that look like landscapes. Her FRPS panel was a good example of this. Guy’s favourite subject to photograph is landscape\, particularly when it is illuminated by some wonderful light. Previously a darkroom worker\, Guy likes to apply the darkroom approach to bringing out the best in an image by selectively adjusting contrast. He particularly enjoys a monochrome picture and generally tends towards the dramatic approach but is occasionally tempted into trying the delicate/high key technique.  As they say\, “It will be an evening of all sorts”

DESCRIPTION:Barbie and Rusty Lindsay from Ipswich will be giving us a joint presentation\, loosely called “The\nExhibitionists”\nBarbie (EFIAP/s\, MPAGB\, FBPE) is a photographic obsessive. She lives and thrives on the photographic medium. Her\nworld is seen through the eye of the lens and her life totally revolves around her love of photography. Born in Ipswich\,\nacquired her first camera at the age of 11. She had always hankered after a career as an artist\, but never fulfilled this\ndream. Instead turned her artistic talent to photography in 1982. Now working in the print lab of a large schools\nphotography company\, despite hating kids. Her love of photography has developed over the years. She lectures across\nthe country\, judges nationally\, as well as participating in international exhibitions and was appointed a PAGB judge in\n2005. Her biggest achievement to date must be\, being part of the Gold medal winning team\, representing Britain in\nthe worldwide FIAP biennial print competition. In the same competition she also won an individual silver medal.\nRusty(EFIAP MPAGB FBPE) is a photographer and photo artist\, specialising in digital manipulation. He will photograph\nanything and everything if he thinks it could make an interesting image.\nRusty has been involved in photography since 1989 and is currently working full time as a digital imaging specialist. In\nhis spare time it is photography\, photography\, photography. He judges and lectures on all aspects of photography\nacross the country\, and is a very successful international exhibitions exhibitor. In 2006 he accepted the appointment\nto be added to the official PAGB list of judges.

His serious interest started\nby photographing Formula 1 in the 1980’s but he has since moved on to “photograph anything” but landscapes have\nbecome his passion. DESCRIPTION:Dr David Sadler\, ARPS\, CPAGB\, EFIAP from Dundee will be presenting his talk “And now for\nsomething completely different” To quote an article in the Dundee Telegraph; “As a forensic pathologist and the head\nof a photographic society\, David Sadler is not someone you’d expect to still identify with punk.” Safe to say\, David is\nnot a run-of-the-mill photographer and his images reflect that. His Flickr profile says: “Interested in trying all kinds of\nphotography. An opportunist\, I suppose. I joined Dundee Photographic Society in 2010. Having enjoyed the stimulus\nand competition within my local club I started entering pictures into Salons\, with reasonable success. Since joining\, I\nhave obtained a few photographic distinctions: ARPS\, CPAGB\, EFIAP\, BPE*2\, LBIPP. I was the President of DPS\n(2016-18). My main interests are travel\, street and opportunistic photography\, with a humorous element wherever\npossible. A recurring theme is fisheye selfies\, boldly processed to be “in your face”. DESCRIPTION:Donna is an award winning blogger and food photographer living in Surrey\, UK. DESCRIPTION:I knew from an early age which direction I wanted to take in life and now I am living my dream guiding fellow wildlife enthusiasts around my beloved Africa. \nHaving studied in South Africa I founded Your Safari in 2001 offering travellers the opportunity to enjoy African wildlife at their own pace\, in their own company and on their own itinerary. \nAs chief guide I also spend several months a year leading private safaris for photographers\, friends travelling together or families and am never happier than when we are sitting at a waterhole in Etosha watching the drama unfold all around us and I can share the experience with my guests. \nI truly have the best job in the world – to be able to spend time in the bush watching wildlife with like-minded people\, well away from the hustle and bustle of modern living – well\, that’s not really working is it?

Devised by Andrew Wilson\, it has to date published 16 books\, its most successful being Wild about Barnes\, which is now in its third edition.  Each of the books take around 18 months to produce and are essentially a year in the life of the towns or villages featured; with all the seasons at your fingertips\, you can amble through the places at their most beautiful. The accompanying editorial\, put together by local historians\, helps put all the pictures into their proper context in a light and often amusing way. The Wild About series is ever expanding\, with more coming in the next few years.

DESCRIPTION:My first love is People Photography. It is the talking to people and getting them on my side\, giving them the ideas of pose and mood etc to bring out that special look. I am not keen ion artificial looks. I like the natural feel of an image. \nI have walked and cycled all my life\, sand still go on long walks in Snowdonia and the Peak District and take my camera\, climbing to a particular viewpoint where I feel scene is best seen. \nI also love taking some local sports\, such as Cricket\, ladies and men’s rugby and Alsager 5 road race. \n My people photography is very varied\, including model shoots\, indoors and out.  Actors and actresses. organises my own mini shoots and generally keeping my eyes alert for  special opportunities . \nI have been Photographer of the Year several times at Alsager CC \, including the last two years.  I came 10th in the 2020  L&CPU Individual  Competition  covering Colour Mono and Nature
