Midday walk around a Community Garden close to the junction
between Brixton Road and Caldwell Street in Kennington. This city-centre gem of a
community flower garden, created and maintained for a number of years by local people, is
hidden away amongst the flats and high-density housing of Kennington. From late morning
on wards in July and August, it teems with butterflies, bees, dragonflies, other insects and
birds. Macro and long lenses both useful. Not so easy to find parking spaces, but excellent
transport links by bus, train and tube (Northern Line). Meet at the junction of Brixton Rd
and Caldwell Street at 12.00 midday.
